Rooted in fantasy and the imagination, Daimon Downey's work is a riot of colour and joy.
Daimon's studio practice focuses on abstract and expressionist painting. Through his use of colour and form, he invites the onlooker to feel comfort and happiness. His work offers an escape from the mundane and oftimes harsh realities of life giving people a window to safety, pleasure and escape.
"My paintings are a sequence of events, large and small, most invisible but all important that lead us to a place of balance and maybe reflection. I'm not provocative, I'm not going to fill your walls with darkness. I am going to give you joy, light and offer you something to love."
